We are reasonably certain that Florenz Emma Pook, (b1885) Aden (Our Grandmother’s sister) one of our Great Grandfather’s children inherited this Photograph Album from her father John Pook, RSM 40th South Lancs Regt. Florenz Emma Pook eventually (we think) gifted this Album to her Great Nephew, Terence Bernard Barry, who in turn gifted this Album to his brother Michael Patrick Barry in 2023. Michael is the main Researcher/Archivist of our extended family tree. We think this album dates from about 1850, and or was started at or around this date.
What we can say for certain is that there are some photos that we can definitely and positively identify as Sanderson’s and Pook’s! Including the random loose photos that were contained randomly throughout the album. We already possessed a few family photos that are duplicates contained in this album, or there was already an inscription on the original photo. In some cases, this helped us with further identification of the photos within this album.
I have labelled each photo briefly with what we believe is an accurate identification of the people in this album. When I completed the original digital scans I used slips of paper with the Page numbers applied, I have now inscribed the same page numbers in pencil on the original pages in the Album. For a more detailed and possible alternative identifications by other family members please see the separate & additional Post titled – Album Contents – with probable & or possible identifications of the photographs contained therein.”
The identification of the man (if correct?), in the very 1st photo in this album (Page 2) is maybe an indication of the family name that either began or owned this album?
Hope this is not too confusing?!

I wish to preserve this album, and with the help of family members identify as many of our relations as possible. Hopefully, the next generation of our family will preserve this Family album for the next generations.
A quantity of loose photos were found amongst the pages of this Album when I received it. I hope to eventually insert the 19 loose photos into the album where appropriate.
We think that most of the people featured in this album are either Pook’s or Sanderson’s.
